Port Stephens Netball Association held its Council Meeting 14 August 2024.
A quorum was achieved made up of Executive Members, and Club delegates, and some active Life Members who attended.
Apologies were noted, and an Acknowledgement of Country was provided.
A focus of tonight's meeting was to share suggested changes to the Associations Constitution and Policies after recently hosting two sessions in July and August open to members to provide input into their review.
At the conclusion of this agenda item, it was agreed that Member Clubs would share and discuss the proposed changes with their members and provide and further suggested edits for the betterment of the Associations operations by 4 September 2024, with the intention of a Special Council Meeting to occur on Wednesday 16 October at 6.30pm to vote on changes to the Association Constitution and Policies ahead of the 2025 netball year.

Bradson Netball are hosting the Mental Health and Wellbeing Round Saturday 17 April. More than 500 tickets have now been purchased in the raffle all monies raised will be donated equally between two local organisations Talk2MeBro and U Matter Awareness. Tickets are available here and the raffle will be drawn on Saturday afternoon.
Information was shared about the Umpiring and Coaching resources that are available to support member clubs.
The financials of the Association were advised to its members.
A reminder was shared to support the active contribution that our learning umpires play in the game and that positive spectator behaviour towards umpires to be displayed.
Spring competition registrations are now open register your team here for the competition that starts on Monday 14 October.
Representative Convenor acknowledged the officials who supported the program over the last 12 months
Members were advised that nominations are now open for players wishing trial for the 2025 Representative Program - players interested are able to register their interest here
Information was shared from the Netball NSW Presidents Connect meeting held recently, with a strong commitment from Netball NSW to continue to grow boys and mens pathways and to look at term-based netball programs to continue to grow our membership numbers across NSW.
Canteen Convenor thanked those who have assisted at recent Schools Cup and Carnivals and requested that members continue to support the upcoming Netball NSW Schools Cup on 6 September and the Netball NSW Koori Gala day on 15 September (you can register for the Koori Gala day here)
A reminder was provided that the timeslots for the final series differ to that of the regular playing season with games played at 10am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm to accommodate for any extra time periods that may be required - umpires wishing to umpire in the final series are reminded to provide their availability to the clubhouse.

The next scheduled meeting of the Association is the Annual General Meeting to be held 12 March 2025 in person at the Port Stephens Netball Association Clubhouse.
Note that a Special Council Meeting is tentatively scheduled for 16 October 2024 6.30pm formal confirmation will be advised to members with 21 days' notice consistent with the Association Constitution.
